If you haven't been in the loop with the music scene for the past couple of years, Foster the People will sound like one more of those agendas the youth seems to be so passionate about. However, if you are one of the lucky few that is still humming and chanting the chorus of "Pumped up Kicks", then Foster People tickets are just the thing for you.

It's hard to imagine that Foster the People's Mark Foster - the man behind their signature vocals - used to be a commercial jingle writer before the band came into being in 2009. "Pumped up Kicks" was their first song and it was after it achieved mass commercial success that they signed a record deal with Startime International. The song's success in itself says a lot about the band's potential. It's an unconventional track, carried by its infectious beats and rhythm and unforgettable chorus. It has been covered many, many times by various YouTube artists and even recognized musicians. The song has since earned them a Grammy nomination for 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance', grabbed the number one spot on the Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, and number three on the Billboard Hot 100. It also snagged a spot on the Billboard's Rock Songs chart and the Adult Top 40. The song was also recently certified six times platinum!

The band's fan base slowly coalesced into something big, with appearances, concerts and gigs at popular music festivals like South by Southwest, held in Austin and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

They released their first album Torches in 2011.The entire project was inspired by one song that had gone viral, and so the album was written to back up "Pumped up Kicks." The album was at number eight on the Billboard 200 in the United States. It peaked at number one in Australia on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album has been recently certified platinum by the RIAA.

They have been nominated and have won several notable awards. In 2011, they were nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Rock Video (for "Pumped up Kicks") categories. They scored fifteen nominations in 2012, along with a Billboard Award for Top Rock Song for "Pumped up Kicks."

It might seem like they are a one-hit wonder but their latest release Supermodel - which came out in March 2014 - has three tracks that have already reached quite a few ears. The pre-released singles are "Coming of Age", "Best Friend" and "Pseudologia Fantastica." The most recent one is "Best Friend", which was released in March 2014. "Coming of Age" came out at the start of the year, followed by "Pseudologia Fantastica" in February.

Supermodel is their second album and was released by Columbia Records. It's a concept album. There's a lot of strong messages behind the idea, including general animosity and disapproval of consumer ideology. The lyrics also talk about modern popular culture, along with discussing the "ugly side of capitalism" and social issues. Influences for the music on the album have been David Bowie, Clash and West African music. Billboard gave the album a rating of seventy-nine. One of the best things about this album was probably the mural painted on Los Angeles Street, in Los Angeles, taking the pyschedelic album art to a whole new level.

They will be on a six-month tour, performing at venues in France, United Kingdom, Canada, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Australia and many cities within the United States.
