They also collaborated with Hall & Oates on a number one single with their music covered and sampled by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Take That and Jonathan King.
Norma Jean Wright is an American artist, a singer best known as the lead of Chic, an R&B and soul band active during the seventies. Born in Elyria, Ohio, she went on to study at the Ohio State University and then joined the Topettes, which played music on tour with The Spinners. In 1977, she became a member of Chic, a band that went on to release some of the most iconic R&B, soul and disco songs in the US. Their songs ranked high on the pop and R&B charts. She also kicked off a solo career after being signed onto Bearsville Records and has released several albums, including a self-titled debut.
As part of her extensive career in the music industry, she has sung for the likes of C+C Music Factory, Randy Crawford, Constina, Will Downing, Fantasy, Aretha Franklin, Debbie Gibson, Luther Vandross, Nelson Rangell,Madonna, Nick Scotti, Freddie Jackson and Sister Sledge. In this concert, she will be accompanied by yet another Chic member.
The Trammps is an American soul and disco band active during the seventies and eighties, originating from Philadelphia. Known for music that has been released by the likes of Atlantic Records, they are recognized today as one of the first ever disco bands to enter into the American music industry. A Grammy Award winning group, they have been praised by many of the leading critics as one of the finest disco bands of all time.
