This Italian pianist graduated from the Conservatory of Terni at the age of sixteen with exceptional grades. She continued her studies under the guidance and supervision of renowned pianists such as Jörg Demus and Hans Leygraf. Her talents were polished to perfection by Nina Svetlanova when she attended the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Showcasing her skills with great interpretive abilities and technical precision, Christiana triumphed in several international competitions. For her great personality, expressive maturity, natural talent and mastery of phrasing, Christiana was awarded the Classical Music Award in Prague for being “Best of the Year” in 1989. Following her stunning premiere in 1996 at the Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, the New York Times rightly defines this brilliant musician as "an artist of the highest caliber".
Since her childhood, Christiana has performed time and again as a soloist as well as with orchestras. She has performed in South America, Europe, the Middle East, the US, Asia and Australia. She has graced the stage at venues like the Sydney Opera House, Centro Cultural de Belem, Serate Musicali, the Guggenheim Museum and many more. With her musical tours based in the Gulf Countries, Christiana became the first Italian female pianist to conduct classical performances in Oman, Yemen and Bahrain. She was also the first to perform all 32 Sonatas for piano by Ludwig van Beethoven. Her TV and radio broadcasts have been covered by Mediaset, Discoteca di Stato, BBC, Nine Network and more.
Christiana's discography comprises of twenty-three recorded CDs. Her own compositions have come out in albums like “La mia Umbria”, “A Musical Journey” and “Ithaka”. Her repertoire of popular solo compositions includes Shchedrin, Scarlatti, Pegoraro, Ginastera, Granados and more. The orchestra repertoire comprises of Beethoven, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, Procaccini and more.
In addition to performing concerts, Christiana is also known for her work as a composer. She has contributed to numerous documentaries as well as films. Her amazing work has been showcased in the soundtrack of the video “For whom the sirens toll”. The video was prepared for the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict by the UN Office to honor the memory of the victims of a terrorist attack. Christiana has also penned a series of books based on Italian opera, meant for children. “Ithaka” is one of her books of poems.
