One of the most popular events for musicians and music lovers in high school is the Annual Tri-C High School Rock Off. It is a competition in which high school bands face each other and compete to determine which one is the very best. The top bands then come to face each other, performing in front of an audience that includes many from the music industry. This year, three amazing bands made up of high school going musicians are facing each other at the House of Blues Cleveland after emerging as the finalists among ten bands. Their performances can be seen live with Annual Tri-C High School Rock Off tickets in hand.
The House of Blues Cleveland is one of many amazing music venues in the US. Located at 308 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, it is playing host to the Annual Tri-C High School Rock Off, an event presented by the National Guard, 96.5 KISS FM, Scene Magazine and WJW FOX 8. This is a Live Nation venue and one of the hottest places to be for live music in Cleveland. This particular concert competition is also sponsored by record labels and music companies, including Tri-C Recording Arts and Technology School, School of Rock, Rock the House, Jim Stewart Recording, The Ohio Music Shop, 99X, Old School Effects, Woody James Guitars and Bullet Proof Amplifiers.
The Annual Tri-C High School Rock Off is also commendable in a way that part of the money earned from the concerts will go to the International House of Blues Foundation, a renowned charity associated with the House of Blues. The three finalists who have made it to the end of the competition are the Toxic Lemons, Backstage Politics and High Acres. These are three bands made up of amazing high school musicians. They were chosen from the eleven bands that made it to the Final Exam part of the competition and will now play on the stage to a huge audience.
The best band among the three will emerge as the winner after live concerts. They will play live at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio and are the best among the original fifty five bands. In the third round or semi-finals of this competition, Backstage Politics is one of the three bands that have made it to the end. Its members are seventeen year old keyboardist, Tessa Murthy; fifteen year old vocalist, Liz Bullock; thirteen year old drummer, Sam Porter; fifteen year old guitarist, Jackson Bogomolny and fourteen year old bassist, Chandler Bogomolny.
These musicians make up Backstage Politics and are from University School, Hathaway Brown, Lake Catholic and Beachwood. They are a reggae band who counts the likes of Mr. California, Black Uhuru and Tribal Seals as influences. Their best song is titled We. The second of the three bands is Toxic Lemons, which is made up of seventeen year old guitarist, Claire Mulvaney; seventeen year old drummer, Nick Sagal; sixteen year old guitarist Cory Klinger, seventeen year old pianist, Thomas Markowitz and seventeen year old bassist Calvin Hubbard. They study at the Aurora and Chagrin Falls schools and play rock, funk, jam and groove music. They count Led Zeppelin and The Doors as their influences and Listen Up is their best song.
The third band is High Acres, made up of eighteen year old keyboardist, Max Mulready; eighteen year old vocalist, Shawn Lopez; seventeen year old guitarist Charlie Keonigsmark; eighteen year old cellist, Daniel Toner; sixteen year old bassist, Morgan Fox and sixteen year old drummer, Akin Hobson. All are students at Lakewood High and play indie music. They are influenced by the music of Radiohead, St.Vincent, Animal Collective and Rachmaninoff and have Perspective as their best song.
Overall, these are three amazing and talented high school bands, definitely worth seeing live on stage at the House of Blues Cleveland with Annual Tri-C High School Rock Off tickets in hand.
