Delving into Comedy

Born in San Francisco, California, Ali Wong started to develop a passion for performing arts when she was enrolled in UCLA. She then soon became a member of the University's LCC Theatre Company. After completing her education, she decided to try out comedy and played her first stand-up gig at the Brainwash cafe. Wong received applause for her performance which led to her thinking to pursue a career as a comedian due to which she took a flight to New York City where she began to perform up to nine times a night. This helped her gain some popularity and before long, Variety included her in its list of the, '10 Comics to Watch.'

Ali Wong's stars began to shine when she made her late-night TV debut by appearing on, 'The Tonight Show' in July, 2011. Her performance at the show was well received which then led to her featuring on Dave Attel's 'Comedy Underground Show' and John Oliver's 'New York Stand Up Show.' She also began to star frequently on, 'Are You There, Chelsea?' On top of that, Wong began to work in Hollywood films and was casted in the movie, 'Dealin' with Idiots' as Katie.

Her Comedy Specials

In 2016, Netflix released Ali Wong's first comedy special, 'Baby Cobra.' It was recorded in September of 2015 at the Neptune Theater in Seattle when she was pregnant with her first child. The special became a hit and was approved by many publications. Her second special, 'Hard Knock Wife' came out on Netflix on May 13, 2018. It was filmed at Toronto's Winter Garden Theatre in September of 2017 when she was pregnant with her second child.

She's on Fire

On December 3, 2019, it was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that Netflix has closed a deal with Ali Wong to do two comedy specials out of which one of them will be released in 2020. She also authored a book, 'Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets & Advice for Living Your Best Life' which became New York Times Bestseller. In addition, Wong wrote and producer her first film, 'Always Be My Maybe' which also featured a cameo appearance from Keanu Reeves.

The Milk & Money Tour

Ali Wong has announced her latest outing, 'The Milk & Money Tour' which will commence with her performing four shows in San Francisco from January 18 - 19, 2020. From there, she will go on to make her stops in cities like, Long Beach, Santa Rosa, Riverside, New Orleans, New York and Washington. Wong will end the trek on May 15, 2020.
