Atmosphere
Atmosphere is name of an American hip hop band, which had originated from the town of Minneapolis in Minnesota. The band is comprised of members like rapper Slug and DJ/producer Ant.

They have been quite active on musical scene in different categories since 1993. it ids a general and approved opinion that they have proved themselves to be amongst the highly successful and independent hip hop on commercial basis.

It is interesting to know that the "slug" nick name of Daley had come from his father. As his dad was was usually called "Sluggo", by his friend, who ultimately started calling Sean "little Sluggo," which had turned out to be Slug at the end.

Slug started his career by joining loose group known as The Rhymesayers Collective before the formation of Atmosphere. The other members include Stress, a nickname of Siddiq Ali and Spawn. Slug had always stayed behind the scenes, and performed the task of a DJ.

There was a chance for Stress and Spawn to work on lyrics. After sometimes, they had started calling themselves the Urban Atmosphere and had started to develop underground notoriety, it was the same time, when the group had formed a strong relationship with Ant, a nickname of Anthony Davis and began collaborating on music.

It was the same time, when they has collaborated with MC Musab and rapper Mr. Gene Poole, and the Abstract Pack, to form the mid-Nineties crew Headshots, where Slug had appeared to be on the underground tape series HeadShots. Each volume of HeadShots had made it possible to let the different members of there band, to showcase their talent.

It would be an injustice, if we do not discuss the other half of Atmosphere, which is being filled by Ant. He has the responsibility of producing the records unlike slug the rapper of the group. Ant had started to become interested in DJing at a very young age.

His inspiration for it had come from his father, who used to perform the same task in the army while he would picture himself as Grandmaster Flash. His dream came true after many years, when he started producing and DJing on a professional basis rather than taking it as a hobby.

His first CD was titled "Comparison by Beyond", which was later known by Musab, in 1996. He was able to meet Sean Daley, while producing for his CD, which had turned out to be the foundation of their working relationship, and they had worked together, at later times.

Ant has the honor of producing every Atmosphere album, and he has also worked with various artists that are apart of Rhymesayers Entertainment and many more. Ant has solely produced Brother Ali"s album "The Undisputed Truth", in the year of 2007.

It is really very interesting to know, that the latest LP release from Atmosphere, in the year of 2008, has a very far approach from the traditional style of the band. Ant has used more live instrumentation in his production rather than sampling off of records.

He would have the various musicians that play in Atmosphere's touring band lay down a few bars from which he would take what he wanted and assemble a track. Slug has also started to focus on writing more songs telling stories and anecdotes about other people.
