Sports Tickets In Detail
Because of the television coverage of all the major sporting events like World Cup football, Olympics, UEFA Cup, US Open, Wimbledon, French Open, Australian Open, World Athletic meet, Formula 1 racing, NBA Basketball championship etc., the viewer ship also increased. As a result the sports industry got a massive boom. In the world economy, sports industry is now a major revenue generator. In the United States, it is one of the fastest growing industries. According to a survey done about the size of the sports industry, it was estimated at $213 billion last year. As compared to the auto industry in the US, sports industry is far than twice its size and compared to the movie industry, it is seven times its size.
Some of the major world sporting events come once a year or after every few years and are eagerly awaited by the fans. Soccer World Cup for instance is held after every four years. It is quite a popular event as well as the most viewed in the world. The 2006 World Cup in Germany was viewed by over 30 billion people. The next one is going to be in 2010 in South Africa. Olympic Games make another important event. Summer Olympics are also held after 4 years regularly. The whole world saw the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. It was a very grand and huge event with an amazing opening and closing ceremonies. These sports tickets start selling almost a year ago as fans prepare to be at the event destination. The next Olympics are scheduled to be hosted in 2012 in London, United Kingdom. This event offers an excellent opportunity for the host country to showcase and promote itself globally and generate a lot of revenue as well. Other important sporting events include Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, Tennis Grand Slam, Swimming World Championships, Baseball World Series, Cricket World Cup, Golf Majors, Cycling Tour de France, Football Super Bowl, Hockey world championship, Motor Races etc.
American sports have also remained consistent in popularity and over the years, has also evolved by embracing a variety of other sports. Today, with new sports arenas cropping up and sales of sports paraphernalia bringing in a lot of cash, sports in US is a big business. The fans traditions are a big part of sports in America. Some of the best traditions were made up by the fans spontaneously and became a staple of a particular team’s games. For instance, in baseball, the bleacher fans at Yankee Stadium manage to get every Yanks position player to acknowledge and wave at them during the opening inning of every game during the roll call by calling out their names. During the Stanley Cup finals in 1996, Florida Panthers fans threw rubber rats onto the ice during their run to the finals. Then there are also certain traditions that get started with players, and then continue to grow. For example, whenever the Cavs make the finals LeBron James throws a chalk into the air prior to tip-off and fans also toss their own along with him. Some of the top American sports include Basketball, Baseball, American Football, US Soccer, Ice Hockey, and Motor Sport. These are the most watched events and have something for every sports fan in the US.
Another thing which makes a Sports different is the nature of the Sports. It may vary by musical genre as well as individual groups in those genres. The mood, order of program and volume maybe the same in a Sports by a small bluegrass band or a small jazz combo. However, the difference would be in music and dress. In the same way, one particular band, musician, or genre of music may attract fans with similar dress code, hairstyle, and behavior. For instance, in the 70s the hippies often entertained long hair, sandals and clothing that was inexpensive and made of natural fibers. The regulars to a Sports venue might also have an identifiable style, consistent with that particular venue's scene.
For those who are more interested in classical music, Opera is the best option, or Orchestra sports. In Opera the music is either performed by a full orchestra or by a small group of musicians. In Orchestra sports forty or fewer musicians perform with or without a conductor. Other types of chamber orchestras are also very common based on the type of music, the kind of instruments used and the number of musicians. Yet another type of Sports is when there is a performance by a group of singers (small or big) known as a choir. Examples include, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8 in E Flat Major. As it requires a large chorus and orchestra, it earned the title "Symphony of a Thousand". Sports tickets to such type of events are very much in demand as these have garnered a large number of regular attendees and are thought to be very prestigious gatherings.
