The US Gymnastics Championships determine individual winners along with the junior and senior champions for the national team.  Pittsburgh will host the event for the first time since 2001 and its fourth since 1973. The news has got the residents excited and they can't wait for the competition to start. Two sessions per day have been arranged and the first day will feature gymnasts in Women's Junior and Women's Senior categories. On the second day men will display their skills and on the third day, Women's Finals will be held. The last day will conclude the competition with Men's Finals.

Last year's reigning US National All-Around Champion and World All-Around Champion, Simone Biles is all set to participate in the championship this year. The event will mark her return to gymnastics as she was undergoing treatment on her shoulder and had withdrawn from previous competitions. Belonging to Texas, Simone Biles specializes in artistic gymnastics and currently trains under Aimee Boorman. At the 2013 World Championships, she not only won Gold Medal in All- Around category but also in Floor Exercise. 

The artistic gymnast, Sam Mikulak will be defending his title at the 2014 Gymnastics Championships. Last year he won three Gold Medals in All-Around, Parallel Bars and High Bars categories. His most recent achievement includes winning the 2014 American Cup All-Around title, where he outclassed Japan's Shogo Nonomura. Another gymnast to look out for at the competition is Syque Caesar. Holding a dual citizenship in the US and Bangladesh, he has shown his talent on the Parallel Bars and won Gold Medal at the Central South Asian Artistic Gymnastic Championships. C.J. Maestas also has high hopes for the 2014 competition. Besides making a place for himself in All-Around category, he has also excelled in Floor Exercise. 

Winning Gold Medal for the US team at the 2012 London Olympics, Jordyn Wieber will be looking to add to her credentials in this year's Gymnastics Championships. Retired gymnasts like the Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin and Balance Beam Gold Medalist, Shawn Johnson are promoting the event and excited about the competition, stating that it's one of the most important events. ?It will determine who will represent the US National team?, said Liukin.
