Maysa is a spectacular artist from Baltimore, Maryland who has been active in the international music scene since her debut in 1991. From then onwards, she has gather many a fan to her fold, selling numerous albums and releasing chart topping singles. Renowned as one of the best Jazz, R&B and soul artists alive today, she has enchanted many live, with many often ordering Maysa tickets for her concerts. Maysa is an artist particularly famous in the jazz sub-genre, smooth jazz. She has also been part of famous bands, including the British outfit, Incognito. At a young, she grew fond of jazz music. She graduated from the Milford Mill High School, turning her passion for music into a degree in music at the Morgan State University, located in Baltimore City. She graduated with a degree in classical performances. While at the university, she performed as one of the member of the Morgan State University Choir, a world famour choir, under Nathan Carter. It was here that she met Stevie Wonder.
Maysa went on to perform as one of the members of Stevie Wonder’s group, Wonderlove. She was one of its best vocalists, performing on the soundtrack for Jungle Fever alongside Stevie Wonder and Wonderlove as well as on shows such as Oprah, The Tonight Show and The Arsenio Hall Show. During the nineties she participated in an audition by Incognito, a famous British jazz, R&B and funk band. She instantly amazed members of the band, moving to London in 1992. She went on to record a number of hit singles with the band as well as a number of albums, a total of seven. She also toured live with the band, attracting many fans clutching cheap Maysa tickets.
In 1995, Maysa launched her first debut album, a self-titled release that was met with much commercial and critical acclaim. Five years later, she released her next album, a record titled as All My Life. It was also highly successful and was followed up with 2002’s Out of the Blue. In 2004, she released the album Smooth Sailing, continuing the tradition of an album every two years by released Classic Soul in 2006. The next year, she released the album Feel The Fire, another massively successful jazz and R&B album that received a lot of praise from the music press.
In 2008, Maysa released the album Metamorphosis which ranked first on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz albums and thirteenth on the Top R&B and Hip-Hop Albums chart. Her next album was released in 2010, aptly titled as A Woman in Love. As with the previous album, it topped the Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, grabbing the number one spot.
In 2011, she released her ninth solo effort, which again ranked first on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz charts and an amazing seventh on the R&B charts. An award winning artist, she has performed with some of the best in jazz, including Gerald Veasley, Will Downing, Rick Braun, Jason Miles' Soul Summit, Jonathan Butler, Rhythm Logic and Pieces of a Dream.
