Macbeth
Signed to Dragonheart Records and releasing albums since 1998, Macbeth is an Italian gothic metal band which is the new rave on the metal music scene. The band's lineup consists of Andreas (vocals), Morena (vocals), Max (guitar), Sem (bass), and Fabrizio (drums)

Macbeth was conceived by singer Vittorio with Ancient Poetry and Cultus Sanguine drummer Fabrizio in mid 1995, originally going under the title of Land Of Dark Souls. Subsequently the guitaring pairing of Alessandro and Luca entered the fold. A demo, 'Nocturnal Embrace', was delivered prior to the incorporation of female singer Cristina, bassist Fabio and keyboard player Monica.

With these changes came the name switch to Macbeth. Signing to the Dragonheart label Macbeth debuted with the 'Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo' album.

A second album, 2001's 'Vanitas', saw the introduction of new members; vocalists Andreas and Morena with bassist Sem. The album shows a more aggressive approach, without losing the romantic side of the band's style. Vanitas is a theatrical and violent opera in 10 acts, plunged in melancholy with the perfect fusion of power and atmosphere. In September of 2003 Carlo was enrolled into the keyboard position. Macbeth set 'Malae Artes' as the title of their third album for 2005 release which is their best and more mature album ever. The band toured Mexico during July and August. With a new and stronger line-up, consolidated by many gigs, they have recorded 10 fantastic tracks with catchy melodies and diabolic charm. The band has developed its style, putting more and more emphasis on the theatrical atmosphere of the whole album but keeping the songs catchy and powerful. Songs like Lifelong Hope, Henceforth, Down-Hearted and Miss Murderess have solid and heavy rhythms with irresistible performances by singers Andreas and Morena and a more modern and direct sound. This album has taken the moody, dreamy sound of Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo, the dramatic, melancholy quality of Vanitas, and condensed the styles of both to make Malae Artes.

Macbeth has improved greatly from Vanitas to Malae Artes. Morena has all but lost the harsh edge to her voice that was so noticeable on the last album, she has not only honed her skills as a vocalist but she has pulled some new tricks out of her bag and shown off some vocal ability that had not been heard before. She has lived up to the potential that could be heard, but was not quite utilized on Vanitas. She has indeed become the cruel siren temptress that the band has nicknamed her for years.

The band is influenced by bands like Crematory and Black and Death Metal in general. Macbeth shows that, contrary to the former genre-greats, they still have a nice heaviness to their sound and they use no electronics at all. They are quite convincing by the well-balanced mixture of heavy guitars and atmospherically dense melody-lines, also the vocals suit the music and the lyrics very well.

In early 2006 Macbeth lost the services of keyboard player Karl. Macbeth's 2007 album, 'Superangelic Hate Bringers', was recorded in two studio locations, in Reykjavik, Iceland and New Sins studios in Italy.
