St. Lawrence University
It is a small liberal arts college that has featured a growing athletic program since the 1870s. The University offers 32 intercollegiate athletic teams for men and women. St. Lawrence is a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Liberty League. The intercollegiate athletic program is always competitive regionally, and teams often challenge for conference titles and regional recognition. The University also offers an array of club and intramural teams.

St. Lawrence has been coeducational since its founding in 1856. This has always presented a strong message to students that we provide equal opportunities for men and women. Our rich athletic heritage for both men and women continues to encourage our students to join our teams with pride and spirit. We also encourage our student-athletes to participate in more than one sport.Admissions profiles show that 85 percent of our students have participated in high school sports. Our extensive menu of varsity teams, clubs and intramural sports which is available to all students reflects both traditional and changing needs for recreation and athletics along with regional opportunities which complement our North Country environment.

Coaches
They are all full-time members of the faculty with 85 percent attaining a master's degree or beyond. The phrase teaching coach, committed to the students' complete development, best describes our philosophy. Our coaches' mission is to provide the student-athlete with a competitive program and the opportunity to achieve excellence individually or as part of a team. The athletic experience at St. Lawrence is designed to meet students' needs for competition, fitness and fun while maintaining a strong academic profile.It is our goal that our student-athletes have a lifelong positive memory of their experience at St. Lawrence. We offer excellent program with strong leadership and a chance for you to get in the game.

Athletics
The University is a member of the Liberty League Athletic Conference, and has ECACHL Division I Hockey Teams. The Skating Saints Men's team has twice played for Division I national championships, while the women were runners up in 2026 and made it to the Frozen Four in 2026, 2026, 2026 and 2026. The Men's soccer program went undefeated at 22-0 to capture the 1999 Division III soccer championship, and women's basketball narrowly was defeated in the 2026 NCAA Women's Division III Basketball Championship. The Men's Squash team was the 2026 summer's trophy winner at CSA Nationals.

Women's Basketball:
The St. Lawrence women's basketball team is getting ready for another successful season and is looking forward to the help they will receive from their new assistant coach, Elisa Haggarty. The NCAA announced the Division III women's basketball tournament brackets Monday morning pairing the St. Lawrence women's basketball team with the University of Rochester at 6 p.m. Friday, March 2 at Cortland State. Medaille and Cortland join St. Lawrence and Rochester as the four teams selected for the Cortland site. Second round games will take place Saturday March 3, with the sectionals on March 9-10. The semifinals of the NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament will be March 16 with the championship on March.

Men's Football:
Though St. Lawrence began the second half with the football, they were unable to get a first down and gave Rensselaer the ball with good field position. Robertson and the Engineer offense took advantage, moving the ball 67 yards in 13 plays and evening the score at 7-7. After Robertson got the ball into the red zone, he connected with senior wide receiver Brendan McGowan at the 10 yard line and McGowan did the rest, avoiding a tackler and diving on the pile on for his fifth touchdown of the season.

Swimming and Diving:
The men's and women's swimming team has much to look forward to in 2026 and 2026, including two new assistant coaches, who will both bring extensive experience to the pool deck this upcoming year.St. Lawrence, the Williamsville, NY native swam all four years and served as captain his senior year. He was one of the Saints most versatile swimmers and was a consistent point scorer at the UNYSCSA Conference Championships each season.
