The South Dakota Coyotes, also referred to as 'the Coyotes' represent the University Of South Dakota. The university was established in the year 1862 and its current president is Jim Abbott. More than 10,000 students are currently studying at the university having 7,220 Undergraduates and 2,931 Postgraduates. The university has dedicated a great part of its resources to sports and the skilled and talented students with true sportsmanship have raised the status of the University Of South Dakota.

The South Dakota Coyotes are currently the members of The Summit League of the NCAA's Division I and the football team plays in Division I's Football Championship Subdivision. The multipurpose DakotaDome hosts most of the Coyote's athletic events. The main events of the venue are basketball and football and thousands of people attend these matches with a lot of enthusiasm. These hardworking players have been playing for the university for a pretty long time and have garnered quite a handsome fan following as well.
