Organized by Real Cowboy Association, National Black Rodeo Finals are up again. The extremely popular, sensational and intense competitions of physically challenging sports testing skills and training of cowboys and power of their horses, this event is also referred to as the World Series of Rodeo or Super Bowl of Rodeo. This is the premiere championship rodeo event in the US. Organized each year in December with Wrangler Jeans as the title sponsor, the competitions take place among nation's top 15 money winners in each event who compete with each other for the world title. The "special dirt" of the Rodeo, used for the competitions, is stored in University of Nevada, Los Vegas Campus for using it next year.

There are several events that take place during the competition. Bareback Riding is one of them, which requires cowboys to ride the horses without a sadlle testing their skills, balance and coordination. Horses are judged on their power, agility and speed. It is regarded as one of the most physically demanding event of the rodeo. In another event, Steer Wrestling or Bulldogging, horse-mounted rider chases a steer, drops from the horse to it and wrestles to the ground by twisting steer's horns. Team roping features a steer and two-mounted riders divide into Headers and Heelers. It is only event where men and women compete equally together. Tie-down roping features a horse-rider and a calf and rider's goal is to catch the calf. Other Rodeo events include Barrel racing featuring a horse-rider attempting to complete clover-leaf pattern around barrels in the fastest time and bull-riding.

Before the Rodeo begins, trail-riders parade their horses in front of fans and spectators throughout the streets and as soon as sun goes down, all night party begins. At the end of the competition, a title of "World All-Around Rodeo Champion Cowboy" is awarded to the highest earning cowboy. Besides world championship, en average winner is also crowned at the end of each event.

National Black Rodeo Finals are extremely popular among fans and spectators. In 2012, the cowboys and cowgirls participated in seven events and performers included J Dash, Omar Cunningham and Gambling Sate University Marching Band. Since event is sold-out very quickly, many casinos carry it live, arrange special parties, accommodate more fans and book special entertainment for live show.
