For those who are unaware of the dynamic Jaspers, the Manhattan Jaspers are the athletic teams of the Manhattan College, located in New York City. Their women's teams are known as Lady Jaspers. Combinedly, the Manhattan Jaspers and the Lady Jaspers are made up of nineteen teams of numerous different sports such as basketball, football, soccer, softball, lacrosse, swimming and various others. These teams represent Manhattan College at several intercollegiate sports competitions. The teams take part in the Division I of the NCAA. In addition to that, they belong to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
 
The athletics director of the Manhattan Jaspers is Bob Byrnes, who is a brilliant sportsman himself. Two of the most popular teams of the Manhattan Jaspers are their baseball and basketball teams. The basketball field in which the team plays is the Draddy Gymnasium and their baseball arena is the Van Cortlandt Park. The Manhattan Jaspers have white and green as their uniform colors and their nickname is the Jaspers.
 
The Manhattan Jaspers include numerous different teams. Their men's teams include volleyball, track and field, swimming, soccer, lacrosse, golf, cross country, crew, basketball, and baseball. The women's teams include track and field, tennis, swimming, softball, soccer, lacrosse, cross country, crew, and basketball. All these teams are extremely talented and include some skilled athletes.
 
The Manhattan Jaspers got their name from Brother Jasper of Mary F.S.C who is one of the most prestigious figures of the Manhattan College. He served there during the nineteenth century and introduced the college to baseball. He was also the first coach of the college. Not only that, but he was also the Prefect for Discipline. During his direction of the team, he was also responsible for managing the fans at the games of the college.
 
Over the course of their history, the Manhattan Jaspers have had several players in the Hall of Fame. Some of their most popular athletes who have gone on to be inducted into the Hall of Fame include Neil Cohalan, Dick Ciccolella, Joseph Cianciabella, Robert T. Chlupsa, Louis Castro, Robert Carty, John Carey, Bill Campion, Tim Cain, Mike Cohen and various more as well. Another part of the Manhattan College sports department is the Jasper Athletic Club. This department is responsible for raising funds for the Intercollegiate Athletics which the Jaspers take part in. The funds are raised by friend, family and the alumni of the Manhattan College.
