Since the time of its creation in 1972, IUPUI Jaguars are excelling in every game they play. There is simply no way to skip on their amazing shows of excellent sports. Men's basketball team was the first team to start playing in IUPUI Jaguars and later on the scope of its sports increased. In 1975 the university also sponsored women sports including women's basketball, volleyball as well as softball and Tennis teams. The Jaguars joined NAIA in 1978 and in 1997 they reached NCAA Division I.
 
The performance of its basketball team has always been one of the most appreciative.  The team won NAIA District 21 Tournament and also got into the NAIA National Tournament. It was the 2002-2003 season of Jaguars which they won and become the first men's basketball team that ever won Mid-Continent Conference Tournament and reached NCAA Tournament. The Basketball coach of the team is Ron Hunter has now left the team but he has managed to make it enough skilled that they are all prepared to give you a great time once again in the field.
 
Even the women's basketball team of IUPUI Jaguars is worthy of appreciation. It has won NAIA District 21 Tournament of 1989-1990 as well as 1990-1991.
