Iowa Hawkeyes represent University of Iowa in 24 different sports in National Collegiate Athletic Association, while Michigan Wolverines represent University of Michigan. Both the teams are scheduled to battle it out on a basketball court this season on January 30, 2010.

Reaching their height of success in 70s, 80s, and 90s, Hawkeyes have successfully earned 8 Big Ten Championships, apart from winning the big ten Tournament in 2001 and 2006. So far, Hawkeyes have reached to the semifinals twice, while they played in a championship game once, in which they went up against the state of San Francisco.

Michigan Wolverines started their play back in 1908, and so far they claimed their only NCAA Tournament Championship in 1989.
