The Boston Beanpot Championship took place for the first time in 1952-53 season and since then the competitors have always been Boston College Eagles, Boston University Terriers, Harvard University Crimson and Northeastern University Huskies. Since then, Turner's goal scoring shot has been known in the history of Huskies as the most important goal. After winning the first title in 1980s, Huskies claimed three more titles in 80s and went into the championship drought since 1988.
