The Auburn Tigers have much to show for the many years they have been active in football. They have been champions of the West Division eight times, having won the latest title in 2013. From 2000 to 2005 they lifted the trophy every year, except in 2003. In the Southeastern Conference the Tigers have won an impressive number of twelve championships. This is the second highest number of conference titles by the Auburn Tigers in any of the sports they participate in.

 The Auburn Tigers have been recognized as National Champions in the NCAA Record Book lists five times. Their most recent title came in 2010 when they made it to the National Championship after defeating South Carolina in the SEC Championship game. Squaring off against the Oregon Beavers in the BCS National Championship Game, the Auburn Tigers came out as victors with a score of twenty two to nineteen.

The Auburn Tigers made it to the BCS Championship again in the 2013-14 season, but were defeated by the Florida State Seminoles after putting up a great fight. With more than seven hundred victories the Auburn Tigers are ranked twelfth on the list of teams with most number of wins. Three players from the rank of the Tigers have been Heisman Trophy winners, while seventy three players have been awarded All-America honors.

The Tigers play their home games in the Jordan-Hare Stadium, a state of the art arena with a capacity of more than eighty seven thousand. The stadium is named after Ralph "Shug" Jordan and Clifford Hare. Jordan was a former head coach of the Tigers, with the most number of wins, while Hare was a member of the Tigers first football team. The stadium has been the home of the Tigers since 1939 and has undergone several renovations to keep it fully equipped. The stadium is located on campus and is the tenth largest on-campus stadium in America. The Jordan-Hare Stadium is reputed to be one of the loudest venues for college football and its steeply rising stand make it an intimidating place to play in.
