Details of Adirondack Frostbite and the Ticket Luck value
Adirondack Frostbite tickets are the raging talk of town among hockey freaks that have been waiting to watch the team get back into action. Ice hockey team Adirondack Frostbit participated in the UHL, playing their home games at the multi-purpose arena, Glens Falls Civic Center in New York.
UHL first came to NYC’s Glens Falls upon the disbanding of Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL in 1999. By 2000, hockey was brought back to the region after North Carolina’s Winston-Salem IceHawks move there, acquiring a new name, Adirondack IceHawks in 2004. By that time, anchor Steve Levy of ESPN SportsCenter and analyst Barry Melrose of NHL, became the new owners of the team, following which its name was changed to Frostbite. The team had to suspend its operations in June 2006, due to lack of sufficient grounds for a lease agreement with their home ground, Glens Falls Civic Center. It was not until 2009, that professional ice hockey would come back to the area, just when the AHL’s Adirondack Phantoms, previously known as Philadelphia Phantoms moved to the arena.
Prior to becoming the Adirondack Frostbite, the team was known as Winston-Salem IceHawks who played with the UHL between 1997 and 1999. The team’s home ground upon relocation was the Glens Falls Civic Center, which has a seating capacity of almost five thousand and is located in Glens Falls downtown. Constructed in 1979, the arena was initially home to Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL. The arena has also been the home ground of Adirondack Wildcats of the USBL between 2002 and 2004, as well as Empire Cobras of the RHI in 1996.
At the start of 2006, the team suffered a severe setback when their then head coach Marc Potvin died in Kalamazoo, Michigan in his hotel room, just hours before Adirondack Frostbite were scheduled to play against Kalamazoo Wings. The team is soon to plays against other well-known hockey teams such as Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins. So don’t forget to grab some cheap Adirondack Frostbite tickets so you can be there to cheer for your favorite Frostbite.
