How Kaytranada Rose to Fame

Born in Haiti, Kaytranada has been making music since the early 2010s. His popularity slowly started to expand when he performed two shows as an opening act for Madonna in 2015. More success soon followed him after he signed with XL Recording which issued his first studio album, '99.9%.' This record is what brought him to mainstream attention. It turned out to be an instant hit and changed his life significantly. The record landed at the second spot on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and even got him a Polaris Music Prize in 2016. In addition, it won him a Juno Award for, 'Electronic Album of the Year.'

Apart from achieving great commercial success, '99.9%' also collected favorable reviews from multiple national and international publications including, The Guardian, NME, Apple Music and Stereo Gum. Moreover, it was included in the Pitchfork's list of the, 'Best Albums of 2016.' The effort also featured guest appearances from Little Dragon, Shay Lia, Syd and Vic Mensa.

Bubba

Kaytranada's latest studio album is called, 'Bubba' which was released on December 13, 2019. Influenced by dance and alternative R&B sounds, the record successfully met the expectations of the fans and reached at the first spot on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. It also turned out to be a massive critical hit, receiving 82/100 rating from Metacritic. This LP just like his previous effort featured many collaborative songs on the track-list including, Midsection with Pharrell Williams, The Worst in Me with Tinashe and Oh No with Estelle.

Kaytranada Shares the Music Video of 10%

On February 3, 2020, Kaytranada shared the music video of his single, 10%. The song appeared on his sophomore album, 'Bubba' and featured the beautiful vocals of the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, Kali Uchis. The video has crossed more than two million views on YouTube and has created quite a buzz across the world. Apart from releasing the visuals of 10%, it has also been revealed that he will be headlining FOMO Festival.

Catch Him on Tour

Kaytranada is now going to set out on a North American tour in spring to support his latest release, 'Bubba.' He will be performing his first concert at The Warfield in San Francisco on April 22, 2020. From there, he will go on to trek through cities like, San Diego, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, Vancouver and Chicago. Kaytranada is scheduled to end the tour on June 05, 2020.
