Charlotte Symphony Tickets

There are a few if any musical experiences as enjoyable as live music performed by an orchestra; the music out of strings reaches straight to the audiences' subconscious. The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra is one such platform which provides its audiences with absolutely unforgettable musical shows. Currently the orchestra is planning an extravagant start to its upcoming 82nd season. The last week of September will see the opening-weekend classical performance 'The Planets', followed by Britten's 'The Young Person's Guide to Orchestra' and Liszt's Piano Concert No. 2. Fans are buying Charlotte Symphony tickets so that they do not miss out in this wonderful opportunity.

The formation of Charlotte Symphony Orchestra dates back to 1978 when Fred Blake started it as a small chamber group of six retirees and two high school students. With an expansion in size and improvement in competence and skills, the ensemble became a matured orchestra by the eighties. It also managed to build a small yet devoted fan base. In 1993 Charlotte Symphony Orchestra elevated itself to professional stature, included paid musicians and increased the number of performances. However, it took symphony another decade to start performing publicly. In 2003, the orchestra performed its first public performance at the new centre.

In 2007, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra also released a music collection- its first compact disc. It included some exceptional work by Schubert, Beethoven, Mahler and Mozart. Two years later the symphony also launched a huge fundraising campaign at its "Celebrate America" concert and managed to raise 4.3 million dollars with the aim of bridging the budget gap over a six year period.

Currently the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra is one of the largest and most active professional orchestras in the country. With a hundred professional musicians and more than a hundred performances every year, the Charlotte Orchestra has attracted around 200,000 attendees annually. The symphony is also the resident orchestra for the North Carolina Dance Theatre and Opera Carolina Theatre. However, the main home of the orchestra is the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's 1,970-seat Belk Theatre. The Summer Pops Concerts by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra are provided free of cost and are held at the Symphony Park Amphitheatre in Morganton, NC.

The mission of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra is directed towards building a community through music that not only entertains and produces beautiful music but also educates and enriches the human spirit and brings people closer. The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra aims to accomplish it while being recognized as the 'Best in class' orchestra as well. There is also an aim for being dynamic and innovative in the creation of remarkable musical beats, which is quite appropriate and in step with current times.

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra regularly holds teaching programs and educational concerts for local school children. It also sponsors two Youth Orchestras which are serving about 200 children. Many of the orchestra's musicians are also educators themselves, reaching a wide range of students throughout the region. The philanthropic side of the orchestra extends beyond such measures; the musicians also go to hospitals, nursing homes and retirement centers to give music pleasure to those who would otherwise not be able to get it.

The last season of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra showcased three different contenders for the Musical Director of the symphony, after Maestro Wada announced his retirement. After a critical appraisal by musicians and audiences, Maestro Raffaele Ponti was chosen as the next music director of Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Under his direction, the orchestra seeks to further success and fulfillment of its desired aims of 'educate, enrich and entertain'. The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra tickets are in high demand for the upcoming season as fans are excited to see the work of the new director with this remarkable ensemble in tow. Get your tickets today and witness an incredible musical performance in person rather than hearing about it from one of your friends.
