Formed in 2000, Tomahawk is a four-piece music group comprising of talented musicians. The members of the band include Mike Patton who is the vocalist, John Stainer plays drums, Duane Dennison the guitarist and Mike Nesmith also serves as a vocalist. Tomahawk is also seen as an experimental alternative rock and alternative metal super group that has found international fame. The band released Eponymous in 2001 produced by Joe Funderburk. In the same year, the group came up with its debut studio record Tomahawk featuring the members of The Jesus Lizard, Faith No More, Melvins and Helmet. Tomahawk toured with Tool to support the album. It was a memorable tour and the ensemble gained an impressive fan following. The album received positive feedback and attention of the critics with most praises earned for the versatile vocals of Patton. The record made it to the music charts in the US and Australia, reaching number twenty on the Billboard Independent Albums countdown. The album features some incredible songs including "101 North", "God Hates a Coward", "POP 1", "Sweet Smell of Success" and many more. The album also reached number thirty one on the Top Heatseekers chart.
Tomahawk released its sophomore record Mit Gas in 2003. Anonymous was the third studio album that the ensemble released in 2007 through Ipecac Recordings. This album incorporates the elements of Native American music. In 2012, the band released a full-length music video for its first song, "Stone Letter" and posted it online. Oddfellows recently came out in January 2013. The album features smarmy vocals of Patton and the intricately heavy instrumentation of the group.
Tomahawk has toured extensively, performing in several countries including Japan, United States, Europe and Australia. They usually headline concerts and also participated in the "Geek Tour", featuring labelmates Fantomas and The Melvins.
