Details of Rockygrass Academy and the Ticket Luck value
The RockyGrass Festival is one of the best known events in the world which focuses specifically on bluegrass music. This time around, just like before, festival organizers Planet Bluegrass will host another edition of their exciting program the RockyGrass Academy. Via this program, aspiring bluegrass musicians will have the opportunity to learn from world renowned professional musicians in a series of classes and events set to take place one week before the RockyGrass Festival. These classes will feature some of the most notable names in bluegrass music. RockyGrass Academy tickets are available for the taking.
RockyGrass Academy is set to feature not only small classes but will also incorporate group jamming, songwriting and vocal coaching sessions. One on one instruction sessions will also be part of the event, which will focus on teaching fiddle tunes, writing instrumentals, practice techniques, improvisation, accompaniment, and music history. In the evenings, the academy will feature exciting band scrambles, sizzling barbecues and jamming for novice and advance students. The academy has been held before and many students, who take part in it once, return year after year, creating relationships with musicians from all over the world.
RockyGrass Academy's instrument classes will feature the amazing performers of the RockyGrass Festival as teachers. Apart from teaching, they will also share their experiences of working in the music industry and will lead jam sessions.
There are three levels of instructions offered as part of these classes; these include instructions for the mandolin, guitar, banjo, bass and fiddle. Single intermediate level classes will also be offered for dobro. Separate songwriting and vocal classes will also be part of the academy, featuring instructors such as Laurie Lewis and Jon Randall.
A special Kids Camp will be held at the academy where children will be able to participate in a fun filled special program for children aged seven to fourteen. This program will introduce them to bluegrass music and includes four days of instrument, band and vocal instructions, complete with a final performance. The Academy is therefore a perfect fun-filled experience for both parents and their children, a one of a kind family learning experience for Bluegrass lovers.
Several students will also be able to take part in the special Instrument Building Experience classes where students learn to make a hand-built instrument in just four days. A number of materials and building techniques will be used to build instruments from the mandolin family and graduates will also learn how to build a travel guitar. More than two hundred instruments have been built to date by students at this special class at the RockyGrass Academy.
For those who want to bring along non-musical guests, including friends or family members, a number of guest passes will also be available. This will allow guests to roam around the Bluegrass Ranch as well as enjoy the delicious evening barbeques. Guests may also take part in the songwriting, instrument building or vocals classes that do not involve musical instruments.
Some of the best musicians in bluegrass music will share their knowledge and skill at the event. Guitar instructors include Chris Eldridge of the Punch Brothers, Ross Martin of the Matt Flinner Trio, Sandy Munro of The Crowlin Ferlies and the Flying Dog Bluegrass Band and Bryan Sutton of Hot Rize. Mandolin instructors include Matt Flinner of the Matt Flinner Trio, John Jorgenson of the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band and Tom Rozum of Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands fame.
