Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 1959, Mac King is one of the most popular comedy magicians in the United States. He had an interest in magic from a very young age due to the fact that both his grandfathers had been amateur magicians. He studied in Louisville, Kentucky and went to college in Minnesota, where he graduated in the year 1981 in Magic and Anthropology.

Mac King has appeared countless times on television specials and has co-hosted numerous shows as well. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada where he has his own family show in the Clint Holmes Theater at the Harrah's Las Vegas. The show is named The Mac King Comedy Magic Show. He is not only an amazing magician, but also a very talented actor, writer and illusionist.

Mac King has also taught magic to audiences during the World's Greatest Magic specials on NBC. His magic teaching sessions were known as the Mac King School of Magic. He appeared in all five magic specials at NBC, becoming the only magician to get such an honor. In addition to making appearances on television and at Harrah, he also gives performances at more than sixty private corporate parties annually. One of his most popular magic items is a yellow coat which he calls the invisibility cloak.

A very memorable incident happened during one of Mac King's performances. He was using sharp scissors for his rope routine when he accidently cut the tip of his thumb. He quickly wrapped a tape around his thumb to stop the bleeding. However, the injury was too severe and the bleeding did not stop. He then inquired the audience if there was a nurse among them. Fortunately, a nurse was present, who treated his thumb and stopped the bleeding. He then went on with his performance and went to hospital later that day after his show had ended.

Following the end of his performances, Mac King usually meets fans and signs autographs on his books or pictures, usually writing nothing more than "I'm Mac King." He has written three books as a co-author, namely, The Great Big Old Book of Magic, Campfire Magic which he co-wrote with Bill King and Tricks With Your Head, which was co-written with Mark Levy and was filled with funny tricks which did not require many props.

In the year 1985, Mac King got married with Jennifer Sils, who he had met during one of his performances. Some of his most popular television shows include hits such as Penn and Teller's Sin City Spectacular, The World's Wildest Magic, Houdini: Unlocking His Secrets, An Evening at the Improv, The World's Greatest Magic and countless more as well.
