"I am what I am", one of her well known singles, surely defines Linda Eder's personality and music. She is a treat to watch for anyone who relishes good acting and quality music. The months of February and March are lined up with performances of Linda Eder throughout the country with destinations such as New York, California and Florida. So it's time to buy Linda Eder tickets without delay.
Hailing from a regular family in Arizona, Linda was exposed to learning music from an early age. She began her efforts of joining the industry when she was still very young. She paired with a classmate of hers and appeared on the Paul and Linda show. Next she tried out for the talent show Star Search and got noticed by the well known record company, Angel Records. From the early 1990s she began recording songs and developed a niche for herself in America's ever-growing music industry. However, her first breakthrough came in 1997 when she played in the Broadway Production "Jekyll and Hyde". By this time she had developed an association with Frank Wildhorn whom she later married. For her performance in Jekyll and Hyde she received the 1997 Drama Desk Award.
Linda continued to perform for several other musicals of Wildhorn, namely Dracula- The Musical, Chamille Claudelle and Wonderland: Alice's New Adventure. Her next release that came in 2008, "The other side of me", was a step away from her conventional style. In this she tried to blend in the pop and country style of music which has proved successful. She has had the honor of playing along with Oscar winning composer Marvin Hamlisch. Her music has been applauded tremendously by the fans and critics alike. It is her unique style of music that has been polished with the experience of years now. Stephen Holden of the New York Times went as far as to remark "What do we mean when we use the word Perfection? The question arises every time I watch Linda Eder".
Live performances and concerts remain Eder's lifeblood. Her vocal genius and playing skills enable her to enthrall huge crowds. This is the reason why her shows always sell out well in advance. If you still haven't heard her play live then this is your chance to listen to one of the best musicians in the country.
The 2011 release of her album "Now" saw the duo of Linda and Wildhorn in unison once again. Wildhorn has composed the tracks in the album and the lyrics are by a variation of names such as Leslie Bricusse and Don Black. The feel of the album is quite reminiscent of the 1960s and is much like Eder's signature romantic style of music. "The Mad Hatter" composed for Wildhorn's musical "Wonderland: Alice's New Adventure" is the jazziest and upbeat number on the album and has won special applause.
Her easy going and adventurous nature is what has been prompting her throughout the years. She describes herself as a lover of the Wild West looking for escape and these sentiments are captured well in her music. A recent performance of hers at Townhall was a brilliant recollection of "Jekyll and Hyde" when she performed with Robert Cuciolli and Christiane Noll. For her it was reliving the times of 1997 when she first debuted on Broadway. It was a beautiful recollection of her best ever performance and she recounts in beautiful words. Her performances nevertheless keep getting better with each passing day as every performance on stage for her is a new learning experience altogether. In her blog she writes that as the year 2013 starts her emotions are ambivalent. She wants change and a break from the status quo. This might just be a hint for all her fans and her next album might be due to release. However, the change in feelings and a more exuberant spirit will be witnessed by her fans in the numerous performances lined up for this year. For a fun-filled night, book Linda Eder tickets now.
