One of the biggest events of the year, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is returning to the NRG Stadium. An extravagant affair, it will start on 3rd March and the final show will take place on 22nd March. In every spring the locals as well as the visitors are treated to some top-class rodeo action, a livestock exhibition, concerts by some of the best musicians and a huge fair. The superstar acts that will be gracing the event this year include country music maestros Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert and Alan Jackson. Pop stars like Ariana Grande and John Legend, alternative rock band Fall Out Boy, bilingual rapper Pitbull and Mexican music artists La Maquinaria Nortena and La Arrolladora Banda El Limon will also be performing at the festival.
Every year Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo gives chance to new musicians to perform at its platform and an eclectic lineup is introduced. Artists of various genres are invited to entertain the audience and these different styles keep the freshness alive in the event. This time Mexican music band, La Maquinaria Nortena will be making its debut at the festival and fans are rushing to buy La Maquinaria Nortena tickets to catch their performance live.
La Maquinaria Norteña rose to prominence in the mid 90s. A norteño group, it was formed in the wake of popular North American norteño bands like Los Rieleros del Norte. Hailing from Roswell, New Mexico, it was led by the vocalist Polo Urias and the lineup further included Keith Nieto as the sax player, Erick Urias the percussionist, Jimmy Torres on accordion and keyboard and Aarón Urias as the drummer. The quintet signed with Fonovisa in 1994 and made their debut with “Polo Urias y Su Máquina Norteña”. The songs featured an exuberant and sentimental style that was hardcore norteño, laced with romance and raw emotions.
The band split in 2006 and Nieto parted ways with Urias. He then formed his own La Maquinaria Norteña which included his brothers Tony and Rory, playing the drums and accordion respectively. Sergio "Fly" Soto was added as the vocalist, Ivan Gutierrez as the bassist and Randy Perez on electric guitar. Revamped La Maquinaria Norteña released their debut self-titled album in 2007 with Fonovisa. In 2008 their second album followed, titled “No Existen Barreras” and in 2009 they treated the fans to “La Nueva Era”. After their third album, the band toured quite extensively and held concerts all over the country. The finally took a break when the band met with a severe bus accident that almost took their lives. After a gap of four years, La Maquinaria Norteña came up with their fourth album “Vive en Mi”. It became their highest charting record and made it to the Top Ten on the regional Mexican charts.
2014 saw the release of their fifth record “El Fenomeno” that is led by the single “Así Ya No”. It shows the band's evolution and is considered their most sophisticated effort yet. Every track is produced maturely and songs flow quite seamlessly. Other highlights in the album include dance tracks like Un Amor Escondido, Todo Acabó, Falsa Eres, and the soulful ballad Donde Quiera Que Te Encuentres. You can now enjoy these numbers live with your La Maquinaria Nortena tickets as the band is all set to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The organizers have promised that this year's event will be bigger and better than before, so make sure you attend it.
