The husband-wife duo of Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez is known as Johnnyswim. They are famous for their alternative sound, rock-like energy and pop ambition. The duo has been making music since the late '2000s. They are now scheduled to appear on the show, 'Home on the Road' and will feature in six episodes which would follow the couple as they tour North America.
The Formation of Johnnyswim
The seeds for the formation of Johnnyswim were planted when Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano met each other in Nashville after Sunday service at a church. In 2005, Sudano went to Ramirez's songwriting workshop and expressed her interest in working with him which led to the duo starting their musical project, Johnnyswim. The pair then began to write songs together and soon thought to release them together as an EP which was titled after the band's name. It was released in 2008. During the same year, they put out singles, You're Not Gonna Leave Me Here, Letting Go, Why'd You Do It, Away I Go and Good News.
In 2009, the couple married each other before settling in Los Angeles. They also released a new single that year with Bruce Sudano called, Morning Song. The pair then came out with their second EP, '5-8' following which they toured the U.S. They then came out with their third extended play, 'Home, Vol. 1' which featured five songs, Heart Beats, Paris in June, Adelina, Annie and Home. The last track from the list was selected as the theme song of the hit TV show, 'Fixer Upper.' A year later, they dropped their next EP, 'Heart Beats' and went on to appear on 'The Late Show with Craig Ferguson' and 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.'
Rising to Prominence
Following the success of their extended plays, Johnnyswim was offered a record deal by Panic Records after which they began to work on their first studio album and released, 'Diamond' in 2014. This album was loaded with twelve well-crafted songs including, Closer, Pay Dearly and You and I. The duo also released their first holiday album, 'A Johnnyswim Christmas' in the same year. The band then released their next studio project, 'Georgica Pond' which included ballads like Wicked Game, First Try, Summertime Romance and Touching Heaven.
On April 19, 2019, Johnnyswim shared their third and latest studio album titled, 'Moonlight.' The record featured twelve songs including Bridges whose music video has crossed 100,000 views on YouTube.
