Hard 13 is a part of the Hardfest which is the brainchild of the world famous DJ and producer Gary Richards, more commonly known to his fans as Destructo or DJ Destructo. Gary stepped into the music industry as DJ and a music producer in the 1990's. He started creating sounds and became famous with acts like Def American, Basement Jaxx, and God Lives Underwater etc. After making a big name for himself in the industry he thought about doing something unique, something that would give music, especially electronic music a new bigger platform. That thought manifested itself into Hard in 2007.
 
Hard has been a huge success since its creation just over four years ago. Destructo wanted the very best of hard hitting electronic music at one place in a single event and boy did he deliver. Hard now has various events staged all around the country which include the Hard Music Festival, Hard Summer MusicFestival, Hard 13, Hard Haunted Mansion and the latest addition to this awesome line-up the Holy Ship which is a first of its kinds music cruise.
 
Hardfest and its events like Hard 13 revolve around giving the fans what they love and want from electronic music. Electronic music is not played live with any instruments; rather it is played through different electronic gadgets like laptops, computers and Theremin etc. It started getting famous about a decade or so ago and Destructo saw it becoming a sensation after a few years. He saw the success and the appeal it was going to have for the masses when he saw people packing nightclubs, dance parties and enjoying themselves without a care in the world.
 
The first Hard 13 event was held on 13^th March, 2009 at Los Angeles, California. Even though it was a debut edition, everyone who was present there could see right from the start of the show that they were a part of something really special. The place was packed with fans and the line-up was great. The music that was played made sure that everyone who was there had a time of their lives. It was held on Friday the thirteenth but for everyone who was present at the Hard 13 show it was anything but unlucky.
 
The next edition of the Hard 13 was held in 2010 and it was as big a rage as the first one. The event got the heart rates pumping right from the word go. The impressive line-up of stars like Ali G, Boy 8-Bit, Jack Beats and Destructo himself amongst others made sure no one stopped dancing for even a moment. There was no respite from the music just the way everyone wanted it to be.
 
The latest installment of the Hard 13 is ready to rock you and blow you away with its brilliant line-up of electronic music super stars and their amazing music. This year's show is expected to be bigger and better than the previous editions. A unique show with a simple format based on entertaining fans all through the event and late into the night, Hard 13 has created a very special place for itself.
