Born to a Kansas based family, Eddie Griffin showed from childhood that he always to entertain. His family realized his potential and gave him a free hand to explore performing arts. As a young teenager he fell in love with dance. This took him for a few years with the Football team, Kansas City Chiefs as a choreographer during the half time show. However, Griffin knew nothing about the wild turn that his life would take. One day when responding to a dare he simply jumped onto the stage of the comedy club. Without any preparation he made the crowd crack up with laughter for almost an hour. He has always been something of a clown in school; Griffin had never thought he was that good. Anyways, Eddie soon landed in LA to pursue a career in comedy. He found a chance to prove himself at the famous Comedy Store, and become a highly demanded act here. He soon opened for Andrew Dice Clay in NYC; Griffin completed a successful country wide tour in 1990-91. This tour led to him to appear on Def Comedy Jam, HBO specials One Night Stand, Half Hour Special, Voodoo Child. Eddie career was now in fast gear!
 
The Last Boy Scout (1991) and the 1993 hit Coneheads gave Eddie Griffin his first breakthrough as an actor. After these, he landed in a lead role in TV comedy Malcom & Eddie in 1996. Griffin had amazing chemistry with Malcolm-Jamal Warner on screen; he therefore played a large part in the success of the show for four seasons. His performances in Malcom & Eddie won him the NAACP Image Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2000. The show's success also helped him get roles in hits like Armageddon and Deuce Bigalow. In Duce Bigalow: Male Giglow he acted out as a Gigolo, finally hitting gold with 2001 hit Double Take. Double Take made Griffin Hollywood's top notch funny man. After the lead role in Double Take alongside Orlando Jones, Griffin starred with Denzel Washington in John Q (2002). With this he got respect as a dramatic actor. Shortly after this his leading-man fame, roles like Anton Jackson in Undercover Brother (2002) were offered to him. Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005) brought Eddie Griffins back into the comedy gear. Apart from this other Hollywood flicks such as well as the Scary Movie 3 (2003), My Baby's Daddy (2004) and Date Movie (2006) helped him get more following. All these were produced and written for Miramax and helped Griffins in performing roles in significant movies like Norbit and Urban Justice.
