In the year 2009 the band signed a contract with the Republic Nashville and released their first ever single by the name of "Hip to My Heart" that immediately got attention of the fans and entered the country as well as Billboard charts at #20 and 101 respectively, this single was followed by an EP in April 2010 that landed at #4 on US Heatseekers and #32 on US Country charts.
 
In October 2010 came the first ever studio album of The Band Perry which was self-titled. The album raced to #2 position on Country and #4 on US Billboard charts which is quite unusual for a debut band. It also went on to sell around a million copies earning a platinum certification in the US. This album listed some of the hit singles like "If I Die Young", "You Lie", "All Your Life" and "Postcard from Paris". All these singles charted on country and Billbaord charts but "If I Die Young" proved to be the most popular single by the group as it entered all the major charts in the US and also charted in Canada. This song was #1 on US Adult Contemporary and Country. It earned a platinum certification in Canada and 4x platinum in the US. You Lie and All Your Life were at #2 and #1 respectively on country music charts, both these single went gold in the US. The Band Perry has been nominated for a number of esteemed awards such as the Grammy Awards, CMT Music Awards, American Country and American Music Awards. Till date the group has won two Academy of Country Music Awards for Top New Artist and Top New Vocal Duo, three Country Music Association Awards for New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year and two CMT Music Awards for Breakthrough Video of the Year.
