Alter Bridge is a famous American hard rock band, hailing from Orlando, Florida. Active since 2004, the band has churned out some of the most amazing songs in rock and metal. Many of these songs have been shaped into albums and released by record labels such as Universal Republic, EMI Records, Wind-up and Roadrunner Records. The band’s members are bassist Brian Marshall, lead vocalist Myles Kennedy, guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips. The band was founded after iconic rock outfit, ‘Creed’ disbanded, following a highly controversial tour. Three members of the band joined The Mayfied Four’s Myles Kennedy and started making their own music. The first album of Alter Bridge was released soon after in 2004. It was titled ‘One Day Remains’ and the debut studio album proved to be a very successful entry into the rock music scene. It saw three quarters of a million albums sold in a short span of time, as well as a gold certification from the RIAA. It ranked fifth on the Billboard music charts with two of its singles also appearing on charts and receiving a lot of airplay. Many of the album’s songs were also used on WWE, by many famous WWE superstars such as ‘Edge’.

One of the band’s earliest live performances was on WWE Raw, which propelled the band to more fame. In 2005, they recorded a song for Total Guitar magazine and another for the popular movie Elektra’s soundtrack. By 2006, they were on tour in support of the album and in 2007 were signed onto Universal Republic Records. With it they released a second album titled Blackbird. Its songs were used by Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew on VH1 with the band also recording a song with Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil fame.

One of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year, it received rave reviews from Guitarist magazine and Ultimate Guitar Archive, with the forming ranking it number one on the Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time list. They then went on tour in support of the album, playing live in cities such as Amsterdam, Netherlands. Members of Creed reunited, toured and recorded music while vocalist Myles Kennedy went on to work with Led Zeppelin members, including Jimmy Page, Jason Bonham and John Paul Jones.

In 2009, they wrote new music and began recording it in 2010, after which the band was signed onto Roadrunner Records and then went on tour with rock band ‘Godsmack’. Their next album was AB III, whose first single ranked number one on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It also rose up the Billboard 200 charts, with its songs also making waves in the UK. A concept album, it also received rave reviews from critics.

The rock group then went on tour, performing all over the world and at festivals such as the Download Festival, Rock am Ring, Hellfest Summer Open Air, Nova Rock Festival and Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2013, their fourth studio was released, titled Fortress. It received a lot of praise from the likes of Allmusic and Metal Hammer, and the band has been since on tour.
