Pearl Jam formed after the failure of Ament and Gossard's earlier band, called Mother Love Bone, in Seattle, Washington, USA, in the year of 1990. The band members since the inception of the band have included Eddie Vedder as the lead vocalist and also the guitarist, Matt Cameron as the drummer, Jeff Ament as the bass guitarist, Stone Gossard as the rhythm guitarist, and Mike McCready as the lead guitarist. Binaural was released in 2000, two years after the fifth studio album, and then in 2002, the seventh album got released, entitled Riot Act. The album which has truly been quoted as bringing back the Pearl Jam's early, original sound is the band's self titled album Pearl Jam, released in 2006, on J Records label. However, their upcoming album is Backspacer, which is self-released and also under the label of Universal Music Group, includes elements of New Wave and pop.

Pearl Jam ready with new album but the tour postponed due to Coronavirus

Pearl Jam is pumped up to release their fresh body of work and then promote it with a new tour.  The much-anticipated new album Gigaton will arrive on March 27 and will mark their eleventh studio record. The legendary band had planned to hit the road for a 16-date North American tour that was to begin on March 18 in Toronto but due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the trek has been postponed for later. The band cited that the risk was too high to continue with the trek and the safety of their fans is of utmost priority. Though the US and Canada concerts have been cancelled, the European concerts continue. The European leg is slated to kick off on June 23^rd in Frankfurt, Germany.
