The Navy Midshipmen men's rowing crew has won a total of thirty intercollegiate championships and has been runner up twenty-nine times. The crew has also won a number of Olympic medals in their prolific run.

The Navy Midshipmen football team has beat the Army three times in a row in the last three years while they have won the national championship once. Their matches with the Army constantly feature massive crowds and are an important achievement for the Naval Academy. Members of any team that beats the Army in any sport receives a special badge on their naval jacket and is much revered in the Naval Academy. The Navy Midshipmen also field both men's and women's teams in golf, squash, baseball, track and field, lacrosse, fencing, wrestling, boxing, hockey, rugby, softball, cycling, karate, croquet and water polo.
