Jackopierce Cities
Comprised of Jack O'Neil and Cary Pierce, Jackopierce hails from Dallas, Texas. The duo was formed back in 1988 as an acoustic act, where the two band mates performed live at various clubs in their home town. Over a decade long existence of the duo, prior to the five-year breakup starting in 1997, the group had toured extensively all across the nation. Apart from performing live in United States, Jackopierce has also taken its act to nine other countries across three continents. During that time, the duo came up with a total of six studio albums and sold well over 500,000 records.
The duo, with its Folk Rock tunes, has inspired as well as won the hearts of many of its loyal listeners. The duo has done justice to the genre with a string of hit singles like Get to Know Me Better, Trials and Vineyard. After reuniting back in 2002, the duo looks forward to keep Jackopierce heritage growing, and to also give the fans a chance to buy Jackopierce tickets to see the duo performing live once again.
With its vocal harmonies accompanied with acoustic guitar, Jackopierce attained local fan following shortly after touring extensively across Dallas. In 1991 the group came up with its self-titled debut album that was released on duo's own record label called the Rhythmic Records. Following the release of the album, the group embarked on an extensive concert tour in which the duo hit various venues the nation over. The fan following the duo grew even larger following the release of its two more studio albums called Woman as Salvation and Live from the Americas which came out on 1992 and 1993 respectively. Both of these albums were also self-released by the duo on its record label.
In 1994, Jackopierce was finally able to score a record deal with A&M Records which became the duo's very first major label contract. After signing the record deal, the group made its major label debut with the release of its album called Bringing the Weather. The album was produced by T-Bone Burnett and managed to sell well over 100,000 copies even though it didn't come out to be a huge commercial success.
In 1997 the group decided to breakup following a farewell tour that it did back in 1997. Apart from the sold out concert tour, the group also released a double-CD called Decade which featured live songs as well as some new material. The duo performed for the last time together on December 31 1997 before breaking up. Following the breakup both the members embarked on a separate musical journey and pursued their careers as solo acts. Jack O'Neill released his solo album called Halfway Around the World while Cary Pierce on the other hand released four Solo albums and also formed his own record label called Foreverything Records.
In November 2002, Jackopierce got back together yet again and started performing live again. Following its reunion the duo performed a couple of shows in Austin, Houston and Dallas, in all of which Jackopierce tickets were completely sold out. Ever since its reunion the duo has been performing live each year; doing about twenty or so shows annually.
In 2008 the duo released its very first studio album called Promise of Summer after its reunion. Promise of Summer was then followed a number of live albums that came out in 2009 and in 2010 as well. The duo's most recent effort as studio artist was back in 2012 when Jackopierce came up with a record called Everywhere All the time. In its most recent studio release, the group has taken its sound towards a bit more Pop Rock genre. The album has garnered positive response for the duo both from the critics and the fans. And following its release, the duo embarks on a concert tour.
