The Monarchs lost the game to Lowell with a 6-3 loss on October 5, 2001. Their extended road trip ended with a record of 3-8-2. They returned just in time after that to play their first game for the locals.
The Manchester Monarchs became the heroes when they played for the first time in Manchester on November 16, 2001 deserving their first win in franchise history at the home ground. It was the Lowell Lock Monsters that got defeated by them with a 3-1 loss in a game in which the first goal was scored by defenseman Joe Corvo while the goaltender Travis Scott impressed the fans with 27 saves. After this game, the Monarchs have played several games supplementing the audience with the right amount of speedy skating action on the Verizon Wireless Arena for the Los Angeles Kings and the National Hockey League. So far, three coaches have led the team while three others have supervised the team from the bench.
The Manchester Monarchs made their longest playoff run in 2007 owing to their progress to the Calder Cup playoffs over the last seven seasons. For the first time in franchise history, the team managed to finish in fifth position with an amazing 5 points out of the playoffs.
The Monarchs Care Foundation actively works in charity measures. It has distributed an immense amount of $1,400,000 in merchandise, cash and tickets amongst the community.
