Details of V Festival - Weekend and the Ticket Luck value
Counted among the biggest annual music festivals in the U.K., V Festival takes place over a weekend in summers. The festival is renowned for its incredible lineup, featuring the hottest international artists every year. V Festival – Weekend started off as a rock/alternative rock music festival but over the years, it broadened its horizons and started including bands and singers from several other genres as well. V Festival – Weekend tickets are a highly revered commodity during summertime as fans from all over fly in to catch the biggest artists and bands.
Held in August every year, V Festival - Weekend is the ultimate music festival in the U.K. It is held at two venues at the same time with artists swapping the stages over the weekend. The two sites allocated for V Festival are Weston Park in South Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford. The festival, which was predominantly a rock music festival, has shifted to pop music in the recent years.
V Festival traces its origins back to 1996 when Jarvis Cocker, the frontman of Pulp proposed the idea that he would like to perform in two outdoor venues on two simultaneous days. This idea was carried out by Pulp's promoters in a way that they arranged two performances; to be held in Hylands Park Chelmsford and Victoria Park Warrington. The venture kept on expanding until more bands were decided to be included in the event and a better location for stages and camping. The first festival of this kind was finally held in 1996 featuring two stages.
In the beginning, the festival was named after the years like V96 but the trend changed in 2003 when it started being called V Festival. The festival enjoys a good reputation over many other music festivals because of it being held over the weekend and its convenient features like short queues and perfect organization. Because of such things, V Festival – Weekend has a huge fan base that attends the event in thousands every year. The festival saw a record attendance in 2006.
Probably the best part about the V Festival - Weekend is the camping facilities it offers. Fans attending the event can not only enjoy the best live music there is but can also camp in a luxurious site, set aside especially for the attendees. The camping site is located just a short distance away from the main stage where fans can unwind and relax under the shady trees and in a village of beautiful tents, yurts and cabins.
As every year, the 2014 V Festival continues with its tradition of featuring an impressive lineup with Justin Timberlake headlining the event on Saturday, accompanied by the likes of Bastille, Kaiser Chiefs, Ed Sheeran and Elbow. V Festival's awesomeness will continue on Sunday with The Killers headlining the event, also featuring performances by Paolo Nutini, Lily Allen, Tinie Tempah and Jason Derulo.
Previous years have seen big names grace its stage and enthrall thousands of fans. For example, 2013 V Festival featured the likes of Beyonce, Eddie Izzard, The Script, Kings of Leon, Ellie Goulding, Basement Jaxx and a lot more.
The “V” in the V Festival is taken from Virgin Group who is the sponsor of the event. V Festival has partnered with MTV for exclusive broadcast starting 2014. The festival previously was televised by 4 Music, a sister channel of Channel 4. The partnership will follow Club MTV DJs to take to the dance floor and open for this amazing festival on Friday night in addition to performances on the MTV Stage all weekend. Other sponsors of the V Festival include Lucozade Energy and Carling.
Hylands Park awaits all the enthusiastic music fans to come and enjoy an all-star lineup entertaining fans throughout the weekend. For fans who have already attended any of the previous festivals don't need a second telling to buy V Festival – Weekend tickets. And for the ones who plan to attend it for the first time, they are in for a thrilling ride. Buckle up!
