Rocklahoma is the latest addiction of Rock music lovers. It is the world's largest Rock Festival of its type featuring different bands from the world over. The festival is also known as Rock Fever Presents Rocklahoma or Rock Fever and is attended by thousands of people.
Rocklahoma is said to be give homage to an event held in Oklahoma in 1980 with the same name that included then-rock stars Sammy Hagar, the Doobie Brothers and Pat Benatar among others.
The first new-age Rocklahoma was held in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma in 2007. This 400-acre patch of ground at north of Pryor witnessed the history in the making as all the faithful followers of '80s hair metal and glam rock came to celebrate the magic of rock music.
There were an estimated 100,000 people at the first annual Rocklahoma, which can be regarded as 1980s-era style rock music festival. The gala ran for four days with performances by over thirty five rock bands and artist.
The event witnessed the daily attendance of about 30,000 people. It include visitors from all over the world as rock fans of every state in the US descended on the small town to take in this music spectacle.
Those who attended went crazy over their favorite Rockstars and appreciated the effort and those who did not do so, made it a point to attend it the following year.
Many prominent bands performed at the first Rocklahoma festival including Winger, Uro Steppe, Hollywood Roses, US 66, Quiet Riot, Poison, Bulletboys, FireHouse, Warrant, Britny Fox, Steelheart and L.A. Guns.
Every performance got thunderous accolades and they fully entertained their fans by their music and stage presence. It was because of the untiring efforts of all the performers and organizers that the festival became a huge success and gained much attention in its very first year.
The second run of Rocklahoma was even more rocking as the popularity of the festival had now reached in distinct areas. The artists and the fans came out and enjoyed the party in record numbers. The figures of that year sales surpassed the previous one as tickets were sold in all fifty states of America and over fifteen different countries.
About 1,000 fans who attended the previous years? festival renewed their V.I.P. seats for Rocklahoma 2008 while millions others came from wide and far to witness the musical bonanza.
The 2008 edition kicked off on July 13 with more glitz and glamour. The event was held at Catch the Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor off U.S. 69. It managed to assemble the largest gathering of hair and glam bands to be present at one festival.
Over ninety rock bands and artists performed live on this five-day musical bash. The line-up was even more interesting with veterans like Queensryche, Tesla, Ace Frehley, Bret Michaels, UFO, Triumph, Warrant, Night Ranger, Jackyl and the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp All Stars among many others. The crowning attraction came on the final night, when headliners Queensryche perform some outstanding numbers.
The second Rocklahoma festival provided much more than just pure rock performances. There was a new attraction namely Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp where the fans to met, rehearsed and performed with rock star onstage.
The event proved a phenomenal success and it made everyone happy, be it the organizers, promoters and sponsors. All the performers also enjoyed the fest and claimed that the event provided them the best ever chance to interact informally with their fans.
However, the fans, or attendees to be more exact, were the happiest of all as they had experienced the best times of their lives in Rocklahoma.
Now when the excitement of 2008 Rocklahoma has not finished yet, the organizers have confirmed the next year festival. The 3rd Annual Rocklahoma will again be held at Catch The Fever on July 2009.

Major facilities include 130-foot permanent stage with full production, special effects and lighting capabilities common to indoor concert venues.
