Details of Metallica and the Ticket Luck value
Metallica
Metallica was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California after an advertisement that was posted by the founding member and drummer of the band Lars Ulrich in a local newspaper.
Originally Metallica was comprised of James Hetfield who is the rhythm guitarist and vocalist of the band, Dave Mustaine who is the lead guitarist, Ron McGovney the bassist and the drummer Lars Ulrich.
The line up of the band was later changed when Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton replaced Mustaine and McGovney. Band lost Cliff Burton as well, as he died in the band’s tour bus accident.
Burton’s place was later filled up by Jason Newsted. Band had another replacement in its line up in 2003, when Robert Trujillo took Newsted’s place.
Metallica’s initial fame started in the underground music industry and attained critical acclaim after the release of their debut album titled Kill ‘Em, while it was titled Music for Nations in Europe.
The release of the album was later followed by Kill 'Em All for One tour to support their album. The album was initially titled “Metal Up You’re a ”, but since their record label “MegaForce” refused to release the album with that name it was then renamed to Kill ‘Em.
Their follow up album titled Master of Puppets was released in 1986, and came out to be a success story. The album was released after Metallica got a record deal with Elektra Records. The band earned its commercial success when they released their self-titled album in 1991.
The album received positive reviews by the music critics as it debuted at #1 spot on Billboard 200. As of today, album has sold more then 15 Million copies and making it the 25th highest selling album. This album was followed by much more innovative music by the band.
The album that followed their self titled album was titled St. Anger, and it was the first one of their albums, that did not featured their guitar solos and snare drum, which is why album didn’t get much popularity among fans but still it was major commercial success and like their previous album it also took the #1 spot on the Billboard 200.
More recently the band also released a DVD titled “The Videos” in 2006, which contained all the videos that they have released since 1989 till 2004. The album debuted at Billboard Top Video chart at #3 spot after selling 28,000 copies in its first week.
The following year, Metallica released a tribute album titled “We All Love Ennio Morricone”, in February 2007 in which they covered Ennio Morricone’s album titled, “The Ecstasy of Gold”.
The album also earned the band and nomination in the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, for “Best Rock Instrumental Performance”. Metallica also collaborated in a tribute album titled “Maiden Heaven” in early 2008.
As of today, the count of the studio albums goes up to nine along with 22 music videos and 2 EPs. Metallic is also privileged to be the only band that has topped the music chart five times apart from winning 7 Grammy Awards.
