Details of Alan Parsons Project and the Ticket Luck value
The Alan Parson Project (APP) is one of the most renowned British progressive rock bands of all time. The two-man act consisted of audio engineer and musician Alan Parsons and the late Scottish singer-songwriter Eric Woolfson. Both men brought widespread critical acclaim for APP over the years.
The Grammy-nominated act headlined all through the 80s on both sides of the Atlantic. Their experimentation within the progressive rock subgenres fluctuated from album to album comprising art rock, soft rock and pop rock. APP is also lauded for their live performances in which they were late bloomers yet highly acclaimed. Their current tour is taking them to major cities. So grab Alan Parsons Project tickets and enjoy their show.
APP was conceived in 1974 when Woolfson and Parsons met at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. Parsons had previously worked with the legendary band “The Beatles” in production for their studio albums Let It Be and Abbey Road. He had also helped in the production of the band Ambrosia's self-titled debut album. Two years before forming APP in 1975, Parsons was credited and appreciated by Pink Floyd for his contribution to their famous album The Dark Side of the Moon.
Woolfson, on the other hand, had been busy performing his duties as a songwriter, pianist, vocalist and lyricist. Their efforts after the Abbey Road Studios meeting fruited into a record deal with 20th Century Records. This resulted in their debut studio album Tales of Mystery and Imagination that was released internationally in 1976.
Since then, the Alan Parsons Project has released ten studio albums, around two dozen compilation albums and almost thirty singles. Their albums have been certified platinum and gold in many countries in Europe and North American including Germany, the UK and the US.
Seven of their studio albums debuted among the Top 40 on the Billboard 200 including two that reached the Top 10. Out of their twenty eight singles, four charted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks while three secured Top 10 positions on the Adult Contemporary Tracks. Their best work remains to be the 1982 studio albums Eye in the Sky that peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200. The titular lead track “Eye in the Sky” became a hit. It topped the Canadians Singles Chart and scored number three spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
The APP team included many singers and musicians in their lineup under the supervision of front man Parsons and manager Woolfson. After their debut album created waves in the music industry in '76, they followed it with another album the year next. This futuristic avant-garde album I Robot gained recognition with its hit single “I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You.” Their retrospective third album Pyramid created a huge fan following for APP on the British Isles, Oceania, Europe and North America.
The second and the third albums became international sensations because of the unique mixture of genres presented in them. The combination of progressive beats, pop melodies and funky sounds became Alan Parsons Project's signature image and repertoire. They ended the decade of the 70s with another album Eve in 1979.
With the album The Turn of a Friendly Card taking APP into the '80s, they lined up Eye in the Sky in 1982. These albums stirred the norms and sounds of the progressive rock music scene immensely because of the technological advancements. Their singles such as “Time,” “Games People Play,” “Snake Eyes,” “Old And Wise” and “Sirius” became successful on the charts and got them commercial sales.
“Sirius” is one of APP's most iconic song. It has been featured on many television shows and movies. APP's other works have also been used by rappers, rock stars and pop music artists. Their 1987 studio album Gaudi concluded what was over a decade long affair of concept albums by Woolfson and Parsons.
Now, the Alan Parsons Project is touring in the US with a few international stops in between. They will be hitting the stages in many states such as Wisconsin, Florida, California, New Jersey and others. So grab Alan Parsons Project tickets and enjoy their performances.
