The Band's Visit is a theatrical masterpiece whose score is composed by the Tony Award winning musician David Yazbek. He has also written the lyrics of the songs. The book of this musical is by the American playwright, television writer and author Itamar Moses. The show is based on the highly successful comedy-drama film 'The Band's Visit.' The Band's Visit opened on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City on October 7, 2017 in previews. On November 9, 2017, its premiere performances began. The musical ran for 589 regular and 36 preview performances before the production closed on April 07, 2019.

The Plot

Set in an Israeli desert town, something unexpected happens when a group of musicians arrive lost and out of the blue. The guys find Diane's cafe and plans to take shelter in there. The band then chats with her and a few locals at the shop. Under the spell of the desert sky, the group starts to perform music and slowly, the sleepy town starts to wake up and joins them.
