Details of Mark Morris Dance Group and the Ticket Luck value
Mark Morris Dance Group is really something out of this world. From its creator to its performances all the way up to its continuous presence as a dance group like no other, everything is simply sensational. It was formed by the legendary dance director and choreographer Mark Morris to promote dance as an art form the likes of which the world hadn't seen before. He has turned the company into a global brand recognized as one of the reasons why dance is what it is today and this is one of the reason fans buy Mark Morris Dance Group tickets to make every performance a sell-out occasion.
The Mark Morris Dance Group is an incarnation of what Mark himself stands for. Mark was born on 29th August 1956 in Seattle, Washington. He was always a dance fanatic so at the tender age of sixteen he went to Spain to become a Flamenco dancer. He returned to the United States and shifted to New York in 1976 to pursue his dreams. Four years down the line he formed the MarkMorris Dance Group with some of his friends and started to perform two shows a year in the beginning. The dances were choreographed by Mark himself.
The dance group got their first major break in 1988 when the head of the famous Theatre Royal de la Monnaie, Brussels, Gerard Mortier asked Mark to take over the position of Director of Dance there. Apparently Gerard had seen a performance by the Mark Morris Dance Group and that impressed him a lot. Mark took the company with him and it became the face of the theater for three years. They made their debut in Brussels with L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato. That was followed by magical performances of The Hidden Soul of Harmony and one of their most famous acts The Hard Nut which was Morris's adaptation of the famous ballet The Nutcracker. The Mark Morris Dance Group made their way back to the U.S. in 1991 after three incredibly successful years in Brussels.
They start off their second stint in the U.S. with going for a six weeks long residency in Boston in 1992. That very same year they made their debut at the Edinburgh International Festival which helped to take the group to a much bigger audience. The Hard Nut also made its debut in the U.S. to massive acclaim from fans and critics alike. To increase the profile of the group even more they went on a tour of Australia, United Kingdom and Hong Kong etc in the next few years. The Mark Morris Dance Group Tickets were now being sold to packed houses all around the world as the magic of their performances started to take everyone by storm.
In 1997 the group started a campaign to raise money to build their own dance center. They purchased a building in 1998 in Brooklyn and construction started in 1999. After two years of incredible hard work the Mark Morris Dance Center was ready. The years after their move to their own home were just as successful as the years preceding it. It started off with their twentieth Anniversary celebrations with BAM, one of their most legendary creations. That was followed by numerous other performances and tours to places like Japan. The Mark Morris Group's twenty fifth anniversary's year long celebrations in 2005 started off with the worldwide debut of Cargo, a sensational symphony orchestra. The celebration although ended in a year but the excellence has continued to pour out of the company's conveyer belt of magnificent performances to this day.
The group has continued to illuminate theaters worldwide with legendary dances, ballets and orchestras. The Mark Morris Dance Group has done what most dance companies can only dream of.
