The story of the Imagination Movers stared off in New Orleans, in 2003 when old buddies Scott Durbin, Rich Collins, Scott Smitty and Dave Poche got together to make themselves heard via their music. Scott Durbin leads with his vocals and also plays the mandolin and keyboards. Scott Smith provides power and edge to the band's music with his guitar work. Dave Poche is an accomplished bass player and also does the backing vocals. Last but not the least; Rich Collins is the man behind the drums and percussions. All the hard work that went into these albums paid off as the band caught the eye of the children's entertainment giant Disney in 2005. By the spring of 2006 before a deal was finalized and formalized between Disney and the Movers; the band released their first album under the Disney banner. Juice Box Heroes (2008) was the name of the release that earned the band their very own show. That same year the Movers began appearing in a show titled Imagination Movers. The show was a major part of Disney's effort to produce content for preschool children. Under Disney's shell Imagination Movers produced another sensational album For Those About to Hop (2009) and their first DVD release Rock-O-Matic (2012).

The band has won many awards and acclaims over the years. On the occasions of Easter, they performed at the White House Easter Egg Roll on more than one instance over the years. In August 2008 they appeared on the top rated morning news show in the country, Good Morning America. In 2009, Imagination Movers song Boing, Cluck, Cluck, won them their first big award. It came in the form of a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song in the Children's and Animation category. Moreover the bad has been nominated two times for Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Original Song category. In 2011, their popular TV series, Imagination Movers was awarded a WGA Awardchildren's category for the episode Happy Ha-Ha Holidays.
