Sue Mengers is the personality that I'll Eat You Last revolves around. She served several Hollywood stars as an agent for two decades. During these years she was the talk of the town, and was known for her dinner parties that were Hollywood world's envy. She had clients who actually became big names of the industry. Some of these were Barbra Streisand, Burt Reynolds, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman, Ryan O'Neal, Ali McGraw, Candice Bergen, Bob Fosse, Mike Nichols, Cher, Gene Hackman and Gore Vidal. During the 60s, 70s and early 80s, she introduced some of the biggest talents to the industry.
Bette Midler, also often called "The Divine Miss M" is returning to Broadway after forty years as Sue Mengers, a role that fits her very aptly. She is a singer, actress, songwriter, film producer and comedian belonging to Hawaii. In her career that spans about half a century, Midler has been successful in being nominated for two Academy Awards and has been winner of four Golden Globe Awards, a special Tony Award, three Grammy Awards and three Emmy Awards. She started off her professional career in the industry as an off-Broadway actress, performing in plays such as Salvation and Fiddler on the Roof. She joined Broadway by late 60s.
Bette Midler rose to prominence during 70s when she started her singing career at Continental Baths, which was a gay bathhouse for the locals. Ever since, as a solo artist, Midler has released thirteen studio albums. Several of her songs have been hits and have peaked charts. Some of these songs include Wind Beneath My Wings, The Rose, From a Distance, Do You Wanna Dance? and Boogie Boogie Bugle Boy. Her motion picture debut was The Rose, released in 1979 which won her Golden Globe. It also won her an Academy Award nomination in the category of "Best Actress" in 1980.
