Girls Night - The Musical has earned wonderful reviews because of its plot, with which people especially the ladies, can easily relate to. The audience has one thing or the other in common with the characters and that's enough to keep them thoroughly entertained. This has also been made possible largely because of the outstanding acting of the cast which includes Andrea DeCamp, Shelby Garret, Jennifer Oakley, Missy Aguilar and Marken Greenwood. Seen at their best in the musical, their fantastic acting has been lauded by the critics.
The plot of the musical revolves around Sharon who is the musical's narrator and she communicates with the audience, speaking to them from beyond the grave. Dressed in white and adorning angel wings, she suffered an untimely death in a motorcycle accident. Since she didn't want to spoil her hair, she wasn't wearing a helmet and hence the accident caused an injury to the head. She takes the audience twenty years ahead, as her four best friends meet at a karaoke club to celebrate the engagement of her daughter. These four friends have different personalities and their unique behavior takes the story forward.
Carol is a party girl and she is a two-time divorcee. Liza is in a loveless marriage and a mother of three, whereas Kate is the serious one, supporting a no nonsense ponytail and big glasses. Anita is the weird one among the lot and has a tendency to speak fast and go off-track. The dialogues in the musical are used to support the different karaoke numbers and the cast has shown some wonderful singing skills.
Girls Night – The Musical has been compared to some top TV shows. While it has been hailed "As funny and outrageous as Sex & the City" by The Advocate, Applause Magazine has called it as "Desperate Housewives meets Mamma Mia". If you're a Broadway fan, the musical is a must-attend for you. To join the actors on an exciting journey, book your Girls Night – The Musical tickets now.
