This latest Broadway sensation has taken the entertainment industry by storm. Based on the book written by Austin Winsberg of Gossip Girl fame and also on a collection of personal experiences, First Date tells the story of two totally opposite people meeting for the first time on a blind date. The musical has music and lyrics done by renowned music composers Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner. Both of them have worked on the Broadway production Secondhand Lions and have also received the ASCAP Richard Rodgers New Horizons Awards in 2012. The play revolves around Aaron, a novice at dating who is to be meeting Casey on a blind date. As it turns out, Casey has loads of experience on dating and is in actual a serial dater. The story goes on, as a casual meeting at one of New York's busy restaurants takes the form of a risky dinner where the stakes are extremely high. As the play moves forward, the two strangers find themselves surrounded by caring friends and protective supporters in the form of the restaurant staff. They guide the couple by singing and dancing as they are on their way to discovering if there is something more to this casual blind date. In a heart-warming style of story-telling, First Date brings to light the chances people take to find that special person and the significance of taking those chances.

This 90 minute musical has Zachary Levi in the role of Aaron and Krysta Rodriguez playing Casey. Zachary has been known for his work in Disney's Tangled and Chuck, whereas Krysta got noticed for her roles in Smash and The Addams Family. Both the actors fit their characters perfectly and will have you blown away with their stunning performances.

The musical's original Seattle production had Eric Ankrim and Kelly Karbacz playing the roles of Aaron and Casey respectively. Both of them did justice to their characters and gathered a lot of appreciation for their performances. The premiere of the show was completely sold out and audiences came out of the hall with huge smiles on their faces.
