On the other hand, although Eddie is engaged and all set to get married, he surprises the audiences with the fact that he is not entirely convinced about the wedding. Instead of preparing for his big day, he is working on a football trivia test for his fiancé and if she is not able to make through it, he would call off his wedding. This is just the story of two main characters. While these two characters are thinking about starting a formal relationship, the others include Boogie, who is a womanizer and Shrevie, who has a troubled married life and thinks that nothing positive can come out of nuptials. These four people with negative mind set sit together, draw funny conclusions about the realities of life and discuss how entering into adulthood would bring a major change in their style of living. Beautifully scripted, the witty comments of the characters do not leave a single dull moment in Diner. Apart from these four people, other characters include Ellen Barkin, Paul Reiser and Kevin Bacon. The dialogue delivery is directed in a laid back style that further adds to the casual attitude fitting best to the story.

Diner is being screened on Broadway for the first time. Since the movie earned positive response from people across the globe, it is expected that the stage version of the story would not fail to impress the audience as well. This story is the first of the Levinson's 'Baltimore Trilogy' and includes Avalon and Tin Men as the others.
