A community theater group hailing from North Georgia, Closed Door Entertainment is the brainchild of J.C. Smith. Smith works as a daytime legal aide at a law firm, however, he invests his free time in this entertainment house which goes a step beyond what other community theater groups try to accomplish. Big scale productions are made accessible to the public because of Smith's work and people all over the country can experience the joy of great theater.

Today, Smith has become a director, a writer, an actor, a producer and above all, a powerhouse in his field. The repertory of his company is testament to the dedication that he has for his work. While the company has already performed numerous plays and musicals already, they are still building their team. Today, the company stands with more than forty actors, a trained and capable creative team and stage crew and an orchestra that enables every performance to be special.

The Closed Door Entertainment group began in the early 2000's. Based in Ringgold in Georgia, the group started out with low risk shows and theater plays that helped establish them as one of the most watched theater groups in the area. However, as the company grew, their needs grew and they could no longer operate out of the limited space in Georgia. 2012 saw them move their stage to the Trivoli Theater where they have been performing regularly since.

One of the reasons that they theatre group has seen such growth in recent years is because all the members are accomplished in their respective roles. And together, they create a well oiled machine that allows the production process to run smoothly, and above all, produce results effectively. The cast and the crew bring in years of collective experience that enables the final product to be special. Currently, the creative team behind their work includes J.C. Smith as Executive Director, Paul Stone and Music Director, Curtis Cecil as Creative Director and Grace Kling as Marketing Director.

The company has performed shows such as Titanic The Musical, Into the Woods, Smoke on the Mountain, Spring Awakening and The Sound Of Music. Currently, the house is producing Shrek, the Musical. This musical is the adaptation of the Oscar winning movie, Shrek which was a super hit with adults and children alike. The musical uses an extensive repertory of songs and dance to bring the characters to life on stage.

Going the extra mile, Closed Door Entertainment allows locals to audition for the productions to make sure that the plays are enjoyable and accessible for everyone and the community is part of the whole process from the drawing board to the stage. Earlier this year, they also performed Les Miserables and I'm Getting Murdered in the Morning. Future plans include the first ever Willy Wonka Summer Camp, Murder at the Tonylou Awards, Cinderella, Dealt a Deadly Hand and Chicago. In addition to all these, the holiday season will feature A Christmas Carol dinner show and the company's own award show.
