Enter the world of Crystal

Crystal is another masterpiece by Cirque Du Soleil. Crystal is the 42nd production of Cirque Du Soleil. Directed by Sébastien Soldevila and Shana Carroll, the show premiered on Decemeber 13, 2017. It also features a four-time world champion Canadian figure skater Kurt Browning and four-time world medalist American ice dancer Benjamin Agosto. Both of these stars joined the show's creative team as he Skating Performances Senior Designer and  as the Skating Performances Designer respectively. In addition, Crystal contains great musical numbers including the cover version of U2's Beautiful Day which is performed by Cyrille Aimée and Beyonce's Halo which is sung by Gabrielle Shonk.

The Tale of Crystal

Cirque Du Soleil's Crystal has an interesting storyline. The tale of this show circles around a young girl named Crystal who is an avid writer. She often feels misunderstood and out of sync with others. One day, she decides to skate in order to escape her reality and while doing so, the ice breaks and she soon starts to submerge underwater. As Crystal falls through the ice, she is transported to a parallel world where she comes across her reflection. Although, she is startled at first but soon ends up trusting her inner creativity.

Crystal has received overwhelmingly positive response from the critics. Dan Savole of YQG Rocks stated, "Crystal was an astonishing demonstration and is gorgeous in every way."It also received praise from Broadwayworld San Antonio which urged fans not to miss out on this creative masterpiece by stating, "Do not miss this show if it comes to an arena near you."

Crystal is now going on tour. The trek is scheduled to begin at the Mullins Center in Amherst on May 15, 2020. It will continue to run for performances there till May 17, 2020. From there, it will go on to be staged in Trenton, Providence, Hartford, Bridgeport, Cleveland and Ottawa before the trek concludes on July 22, 2020.
