The director and writer of the Cirque du Soleil The Beatles Love is Dominic Champagne, with Sir George Martin being its music director along with Giles Martin, who is his son. The discussions for the show began in the year 2000 and it took approximately three years for the agreement to occur between the widows of the John Lennon and George Harrison, MGM Mirage, the holding company of the Beatles', Apple Corps Ltd. and the surviving members of the Beatles, Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney. The creative team soon went to work after the agreement had been made, and the event was held for the first time on the 30th of June, 2006. The show saw the largest reunion of the family of the Beatles after the break up of the band with Sir George Martin, Dhani Harrison, Olivia Harrison, Julian Lennon, Cynthia Lennon, Ono, Starr, and Paul McCartney in attendance.
