Ballet Tucson trains two ensembles; one comprising of professional and trained dancers, the other a children's ensemble. Both put on thrilling performances annually. Ballet Tucson has participated in International Dance Exchanges with participating countries a couple of times. During 1990's, students and instructors from Ballet Tucson were involved in fruitful exchange trips to Ukraine and France. During the course of their stay they trained and put on joint performances with notable ballet institutes like the Palace of Pioneers from Ukraine and Centre de Danse from France. These trips provided the students with some useful international exposure. Ballet Tucson intends to continue its tradition of arranging exchange trips for its staff and students.
Soon after its inception, Ballet Tucson took on the mantle of familiarizing younger children with the classic art of ballet and providing them quality ballet training. To further this cause it has been arranging the Annual Dance Summer Workshop in collaboration with the University Of Arizona School Of Dance. Spanning over a course of four weeks, this intensive workshop makes arrangements for nationally and internationally recognized professional ballet instructors and dancers to come to Tucson and provide dance related lectures as well as training sessions for students. The highlight of these efforts is the performance put on at the Stevie Eller Dance Theater by the end of the workshop.
